David began his professional career in the United States Navy, being accepted into the advanced Nuclear Power Program. During a six year active duty and two year inactive reserve enlistment he attended more than two years of intensive advanced engineering schooling and training and then was stationed aboard the USS Benjamin Franklin – SSBN 640, a ballistic missile submarine based out of Charleston, SC.
Upon completion of his tour he was honorably released from duty as part of the decommissioning crew of the Franklin in Vallejo California. During this time in the Navy, he qualified as a nuclear machinery and electrical systems expert, nuclear welder, and was qualified through the engineering department and ship’s senior enlisted watch stations.
After leaving the Navy in 1994 he went to work in the high technology semiconductor manufacturing sector as a project engineer with Athen’s Corp. (Later IPEC/Clean), then later as senior project manager for Mega Systems & Chemicals (later acquired by US Filter) in charge of their largest multi-million dollar international capital equipment projects. This led to a position as Program Director with Sterling Energy Operations, a leading power plant project management and consulting firm in charge of international maintenance system mobilizations.
In 1999, he founded ProjEx Industrial Management Services, Inc, a high-tech facilities project management and consulting company in Chandler Arizona. ProjEx Industrial Management grew to manage over $50 million in client projects throughout the US and Asia. Clients included BOC Edwards, Motorola, and Sematech. During this time he developed a unique process waste system and was awarded a patent for this design.
In 2003 he was contracted to provide services in business planning and strategic development through Technology Ventures Corporation, a National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) funded non-profit owned by Lockhead-Martin designed to commercialize technologies from the nation’s leading technology laboratories and universities.
At the completion of the contract, he founded White Business Advisors; a diverse and highly qualified group of like-minded entrepreneurs that assist businesses with strategic planning and the creation of a solid operational infrastructure and management group. As part of this he served as the interim senior executive for several early stage technology companies with an emphasis on web-based applications development.
